One of China’s top game developers has established its new international games studio in Melbourne — further cementing Victoria’s status as a global hub for digital games innovation and investment.

QingCi Games

QingCi Games, a leading developer and publisher headquartered in Xiamen, has launched UltraPlayers, a new Melbourne-based studio located in the CBD on Collins Street.

This strategic expansion marks a significant step in QingCi Games’ global growth, as it deepens its connection to Victoria’s dynamic game development ecosystem and aims to deliver localised game development and publishing services to new markets worldwide.

Founded in 2012, QingCi Games is known for its engaging, content-rich mobile titles and distinctive gameplay, with over 100 million registered players globally. Its signature title, “Super Snail” has generated more than half a billion USD in total revenue worldwide, underscoring its success and innovation in the gaming space.

The Melbourne studio supports the company’s ambition to collaborate with top creative talent and deliver games that resonate with international audiences.

Melbourne was a natural choice for expansion, widely recognised as Australia’s digital games capital with a thriving development community, strong industry support, and direct access to major events, publishers, and investors — making it an ideal environment for connecting with creative developers and building local partnerships.

We chose Melbourne because of its strong and growing development community, supported by world-class technical and creative talent, established studios, and government-backed industry initiatives.

Opening our office here has been a great move. It’s provided us with direct access to the local game development scene and has also helped us connect with several other promising teams. Mandy Meng - Head, QingCi Games Australia

Looking ahead, QingCi Games aims to become a vital bridge between the Chinese and Australian game development sectors, fostering collaboration and inspiring other companies across both markets.
