A Dutch warehouse management system-development firm has chosen Melbourne as the location for its Asia-Pacific headquarters.

Starware has announced the establishment of its subsidiary, Starware Australia Pty Ltd, which will be based in Melbourne – a further boost for our thriving tech sector.

The move will enable the company to leverage market advantages by completing their "follow the sun" support cycle using the Australian Eastern Time Zone and attract local clients to help improve the processes inside their fulfilment centres with the Blue Yonder Warehouse Management Systems.

Commenting on the investment, Roland Stilting, Co-Owner, Starware said “the more we started to look into Australia, the more we noticed the similarities with the Dutch mentality and business climate.

"Besides, Melbourne is the logistical hot-spot and has a fastest-growing tech sector, so in the end, it was an easy choice,” he said.

Starware has hired its first overseas employees remotely and is now looking for new talent.  As the Dutch company expands in Australia, its goal is also to initiate business development for local clients to grow sustainably in both Europe and Asia Pacific.

Founded in 1992, Starware has worked on over 500 projects in the world’s most successful supply chains. Furthermore, they specialise in Blue Yonder WMS and have the biggest accredited team for Blue Yonder WMS in Europe and third in the world.

The investment by Starware is a welcome addition to Victoria’s thriving tech sector which contributes $38.4 billion to the State’s economy and supports more than 139,000 workers across 19,941 businesses.

Invest Victoria assisted Starware's entry by providing relevant business information on the Melbourne market, introducing them to visa/migration support companies and connecting them to a business support firm ACE.
