If you’re looking for experienced talent in a fast paced and agile environment, look no further than Victoria’s thriving startup sector.

The recently unveiled annual Victorian Startup Ecosystem Mapping report has highlighted a growing network of almost 1,900 local startups employing almost 37,000 people in early 2020.

The report found that the $7 billion sector was rapidly maturing, with more than 40 per cent of companies earning annual revenue of between $1 million and $10 million, up from 10 per cent of companies in 2018.

Health, enterprise and corporate services, data and analytics, and commerce, are among Victoria’s largest startup sectors - collectively making up 60 per cent of startup firms.

Victoria is home to ‘unicorns’ (startups valued at more than $1 billion) such as MYOB, Aconex, Seek, Real Estate Australia Group, Carsales.com, AirWallex, Culture Amp and Envato.

More recently, global startup companies such as TradePlus24, SparkBeyond and Revolut have chosen to invest in Victoria.
