Zendesk establishes a Platform Development Centre in Victoria, creating 72 new engineering jobs over the next three years.

Zendesk is a global provider of a cloud-based customer service platform. It supports 300 million users in over 160 territories and has 16 offices located in North America, Europe, Asia, Australia, and South America.

The Platform Development Centre will compliment its already existing office and software engineering centre in Melbourne.

The Story

Looking to improve its competitiveness and ability to service larger more sophisticated clients, Zendesk aims to optimise its service platform by integrating artificial intelligence, automation and machine learning features. To do this Zendesk wanted to establish a Platform Development Centre at one of its existing locations where the company already has software engineering capability. Locations under consideration were San Francisco, Dublin and Melbourne.

Zendesk chose Melbourne for its Platform Development Centre. Its Melbourne office supports its sales business across Australia and New Zealand, as well as product development for customers around the world.
