Why LiveTiles chose Geelong as its Asia Pacific HQ

Melbourne-born company LiveTiles has established its new global innovation centre and Asia Pacific headquarters in Geelong creating 500 jobs in the region.

The software company, which has Microsoft as a major partner, has offices in New York City, Washington State, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, North Carolina, London, Zurich, Sydney, Melbourne and Hobart and major markets include the US, UK, Canada, Europe, the Middle East and Australia.

LiveTiles was established by Melburnians Karl Redenbach and Peter Nguyen-Brown. LiveTiles allows users to create their own intelligent workplace software using simple drag and drop functionality.

LiveTiles chief executive Karl Redenbach said most of the jobs created at the Geelong headquarters would largely be taken by locals.

The new innovation centre in Geelong will be a major part of the company’s global operations, providing service and technical support to thousands of customers around the world including PepsiCo and the US Department of Defence.

It’s one of the biggest investments, and one of the biggest expansions of the Victoria's tech sector and will further stamp Geelong’s reputation as a tech destination.
