Innovative US-based company, Cognizant Digital Works will establish its first Asia Pacific Collaboratory in Melbourne, creating up to 110 new high-skill jobs.

Cognizant's Melbourne headquarters will be used by strategists, designers, technologists, data scientists and human sciences experts to work with customers and partners to develop digital solutions designed to improve business services.

Cognizant plans to work with the University of Melbourne, Monash University and Melbourne Business School, to attract consulting strategists, designers, data scientists and technologists to the company.

Cognizant joins the growing list of leading US tech companies that have chosen to expand or establish operations in Melbourne over the past 12 months, including CultureAmp, GoPro, Slack and Square.

A report by Cognizant in 2015 estimated that digital transformation would unlock an incremental US$20.1 billion in revenue opportunity for surveyed companies in the Asia Pacific region by 2017.

The State Government of Victoria is investing in startups and the state's tech sector, through its A$60 million LaunchVic initiative, which is designed to drive high-skill jobs across the state and make Victoria the number one business destination across the Asia Pacific.
