InterNations is the world's largest international community for people who live and work abroad, offering global networking opportunities, local events and expat-relevant information.
Over 14,000 people were questioned for the third annual InterNations Expat Insider 2016 survey — in what has been tipped as "one of the most extensive studies ever conducted to explore the general living situation of expatriates."
The survey asked expats to rate several elements to their living experiences, such as career prospects, quality of life, attitude of the local population, working hours, and even weather.
Melbourne came out top in the survey with 79 per cent of expats rated work-life balance positively. Availability of leisure activities also helped push the city to the top of the charts with a 91 per cent positive rating.
Already named by the Economist Intelligence Unit as the worlds most liveable city for a record breaking 6th consecutive year, this latest result cements Melbourne's global reputation for livability.
