India-based enterprise software provider Ramco Systems is planning to make Melbourne its Oceania headquarters.
Ramco supplies cloud software for functions including human capital management, payroll, ERP, and maintenance, repair and operations.
It has been operating in Australia since 2012 with a focus on payroll and logistics, and this country now accounts for 11 per cent of its overall revenue.
The most recent signing was transport and logistics service provider SeaRoad's adoption of Ramco Logistics Suite, including transport management, fleet management, warehouse management, hub management, logistics command centre, customer and vendor contracting, finance and accounting, and human capital management (including payroll).
Melbourne's cloud hub is the largest in the Asia-Pacific. Investors in cloud and SAAS (Software As A Service) find Melbourne's early adoption culture, ease of business networking, technical depth, and generous funding for R&D all work together to create a critical mass of cloud/SAAS activity and expertise. Melbourne has more cloud-specific companies and listed technology companies than any other Australian city.
