The State Government of Victoria is seeking expressions of interest from Victorian food and beverage organisations interested in participating in a Trade Mission to SIAL China.
China is Victoria's largest trading partner and export market. Victoria is the largest Australian State supplier of food and fibre exports to China, with exports to the market reaching a record $2.8 billion in 2014-15. Victoria is well placed to significantly boost sales of wine, fresh and packaged foods and other agricultural products to China with the recent introduction of the China–Australia Free Trade Agreement.
China's largest food and beverage exhibition, SIAL 2016 attracted approximately 3,000 exhibitors from 67 countries and 76,986 visitors. It provides an opportunity for Victorian companies to make connections in the China market. Trade mission participants will be supported in market and invited to participate in a networking event.
