Along with the Composites CRC they developed the innovative resin infusion manufacturing process used to produce the complete set of carbon fibre trailing edge control surfaces for the Boeing 787’s.

Thales Australia Air Systems has its ‘Global Centre of Excellence’ for the development of oceanic and transcontinental air traffic management systems located in Melbourne.

Ford Motor Company
Headquartered in Melbourne, Ford’s Victorian operations include an engine plant, design studio, stamping and assembly plant, foundries, vehicle proving ground, wind tunnel and other manufacturing and design facilities. Melbourne is Ford’s centre of excellence for the Asia-Pacific region.
Ford Australia has officially opened the Advanced Centre for Automotive Research and Testing (ACART) in Lara, an investment totalling $20 million. (April 2009)
