Creativity in Melbourne

Melbourne as a creative city

According to Richard Florida's creative index, Melbourne is ranked fourth. In 2004, the Heinz Professor of Economic Development at Carnegie Mellon University in the United States assessed cities in 268 regions globally for their level of creativity in his publication 'Cities and the Creative Class'.

The source of creativity is the people of Melbourne. Our creative culture is fed by diversity combined with skills and expertise. Melbourne’s creative depth can be felt across the board – it’s in the arts, in educational excellence, technological, medical and scientific innovation.
